    Hi Bob,,
I heard you say we should use our dominant color in 80% of our painting. I did not see it with the pear?
Did I misunderstand your statement? Sorry If I did not hear you correctly?

This class was extremely interesting and I have never heard any of it!
Did you also say “never use more then two structures? ” so like verticals and Cruciforms are fine?

    Thank you so much,
I will be watching.. and advertise on fB for you…….!:-)

    Hi Darlene,
    Keep this formula in mind:
    Dominant Color – 80%
    Focal Point Color – 10%
    Spice Color – 5%
    Spice Color – 5%

I tend to use “rules” as guidelines and while I may strive for 80%… I may only get to 60% or 65%. If I feel that it’s enough, that is where I stop. It’s okay to not follow all the rules… all the time!

My thoughts on compositions – I will sometimes use just one, or a combination of two – like Vertical and Asymetrical, or Diagonal and Curves. If I start layering many different compositions and top of each other, I feel that the clarity will suffer.

Thanks again for your questions, thoughts and comments!
