Workshop 2: Creative Watercoloring

Leslie Tieu is a self-taught lettering and watercolor artist who shares her love for learning calligraphy and colorful paintings with over 150,000 followers on Instagram @leslie.writes.it.all. Leslie has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UCLA but began nourishing her needed for creativity by immersing herself in the world of calligraphy, watercolor, and geometric pattern making. Eager to share and document her growing passion with other aspiring artists, she began posting short instructional videos on Instagram and Youtube. The early success of her Instagram account further motivated her to author the popular reference guide “Modern Calligraphy: A Beginner’s Guide to Pointed Pen and Brush Pen Lettering.” Leslie’s work incorporates a lot of vibrant watercolors and hand-lettered messages to create fun, whimsical, and ethereal pieces. She is currently working on her next book and her greatest project to date, becoming a first-time mom.
