Drawing Imaginary Scenes in Ink + Color

Sam Gillett is an artist from Ontario, Canada, primarily working with fineliner pens . From towering castles to enchanting forests, Sam’s detailed and perspective-forward drawings explore hidden places, fantastical environments and real-life landscapes. He’s a Top Teacher on Skillshare with more than 7,000 students enrolled in 7 art tutorials, and helped the learning platform launch its Live Session program in spring, 2023. Alongside art instruction, Sam has drawn scenes for publishing houses, music labels, engineering firms and private clients. His most recent drawing project “Sketches From Hidden Places” saw subscribers from as far away as Slovenia receive hand-drawn postcards each month, following the journey of an imaginary character traveling through a magical world.
